I've lived in Kirriemuir, Angus all my life and I am the eldest of a family of brothers and sisters (five of us in total). I started singing at the age of 15 years old and have been singing for over 50 years. I decided to bring out my own CD before "age" takes over. My thinking being that "it's never too late"
I am from a musical family and just love singing and entertaining. I was trained as soprano, and have appeared in many local Kirrie operas and pantos, both in chorus and as leading lady. I also do weddings and sing at OAP parties, Burns Suppers and private functions.
In February of this year I recorded a song written by my friend Lynne Pattulo, called "I'm Nothing Without You". When my brother Ed heard the song, he immediately said why not make more, and sell them for a Cancer charity, which we did for Ninewells Hospital and raised a sustantial amount of money.
From there we decided to record this CD of songs, old and new. The song called "If There Were No Flowers", the name of the CD, are words of a poem written by my mother. Lynne wrote the music and we decided to add it to the CD.
